Description

Bring your garden to life and support our precious pollinators with our specially curated PollinatorFriendly Seed Mix. Thoughtfully selected with the health of bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects in mind, this mix includes:

Phacelia – A powerhouse for pollinators! Phacelia produces dense clusters of nectar-rich flowers, making it one of the very best plants to attract bees, hoverflies, and butterflies. It blooms quickly and abundantly.

Borage – Beloved by bees, borage replenishes its nectar several times a day. Its bright blue starry flowers offer constant forage for hungry pollinators.

Sainfoin – A stunning, traditional meadow flower that’s highly attractive to honeybees and bumblebees. Sainfoin also fixes nitrogen in the soil, boosting soil health naturally.

Black Sunflower – Sunflowers aren’t just a joy to see; their pollen and nectar provide food for bees, while the seeds that follow help feed birds, giving nature a helping hand all year round.

Linseed (Flax) – A subtle but beautiful plant producing delicate blue flowers. Linseed supports smaller pollinators and provides biodiversity in your patch.

Reed Canary Grass – Although not a primary nectar source, its inclusion supports habitat diversity. It offers shelter, structure, and overwintering sites for beneficial insects.

Each seed was chosen not just for immediate nectar or pollen, but to create a small, sustainable ecosystem where pollinators can thrive throughout the seasons.

Planting Instructions:

When to Sow: Early spring to early summer, or autumn if soil conditions are mild.

How to Sow: Scatter thinly onto well-prepared, bare soil. Lightly rake over or press seeds into the soil surface – they need light to germinate.

Watering: Keep the soil moist (but not waterlogged) until seeds establish. After that, water during dry spells.

Maintenance: Minimal. Allow plants to flower, set seed, and re-seed naturally if you wish to create a permanent pollinator patch.

Coverage: 50g is ideal for up to 2–3m². For a dense, beautiful 1m² pollinator patch, a half packet (~25g) would be perfect.

Imagine if every garden had just a 1m x 1m pollinator patch…

If each of us dedicated even a single square metre — the size of a small table — to pollinators, we could create a vast, beautiful network of tiny sanctuaries across our towns and countryside. It would dramatically increase habitat connectivity, helping bees, butterflies, and beneficial insects thrive again. Even a single planter on a balcony can make a difference — every flower planted is a step toward a healthier, more resilient natural world.

Your small patch could be buzzing with life within just a few weeks — a vibrant, living piece of the countryside in your own back garden.
