Description

Pure, Unadulterated Yorkshire Honey

Our Yorkshire honey is exactly as the bees made it.

Unlike mass-produced honey that is heavily filtered and heated, we keep our honey as close to its natural state as possible. We never heat our honey during processing, preserving the delicate aromas, enzymes and natural character created by the bees and the flowers of Yorkshire.

Each jar contains honey that is:

  • Raw and unheated

  • Coarsely strained

  • Naturally rich in pollen

  • Produced by local Yorkshire bees

Because we only strain the honey lightly, small pollen particles remain in the jar while wax from the comb is removed. This natural process can sometimes give the honey a slightly cloudy appearance – a sign that the honey has not been over-filtered.

In our view, the clearer the honey, the finer the filtration – and the more flavour is removed. We prefer to keep the taste exactly as nature intended.

Our honey is not heated and only gently strained, which is the type of honey many people are referring to when they search for “raw honey”.

Trace Your Honey Back to the Hive

Since 2021, every jar includes a unique QR code on the base.

By scanning the code, you can discover:

  • The apiary where your honey was produced

  • The area of Yorkshire where the bees were foraging

  • The batch information for your jar

Through pollen analysis from previous honeys collected in the area, we can also share the likely flowers that contributed to your honey, giving you a deeper connection to the landscape that created it.

It’s part of our commitment to transparency, authenticity and local beekeeping.

A Taste of the Yorkshire Landscape

Every jar reflects the seasons and flowers surrounding our hives. Depending on the time of year, your honey may contain nectar from:

  • Wildflowers

  • Clover

  • Bramble

  • Lime blossom

  • Hedgerow plants and trees

This natural variation means no two harvests are ever exactly the same.

FAQ

Is your honey raw?
Effectively, yes. Our Yorkshire honey is not heated during processing and is only coarsely strained, helping preserve the natural flavour, aroma and character created by the bees. In the UK, “raw” is not a permitted description on honey labelling.

Why does the honey sometimes look cloudy?
Because we only coarsely strain our honey. Natural pollen remains in the jar, which can give the honey a cloudy appearance.

Can I trace where my honey came from?
Yes. Every jar has a QR code on the base which links to details about the apiary and batch that produced your honey.
